The Moccasin Difference

The Moccasin Elite Academy is very different from any other camp you will find. Our goal is to teach you the finer skills and techniques required to play your best. We will work with your natural ability and cover everything necessary to help you maximize your potential. We will also conduct seminars and answer any questions you may have about competitive golf after high school. NOTE: This camp is hands-on instruction on the lesson tee and short games only.


Camp 1:  June 11-15.  $550 Residents June 12-15.  $300 commuters (9 am - 4 pm)

Camp 2:  June 27-30.  $100 commuters (9 am - 12 pm)

ELIBILITY - Boys & Girls, Ages 14-18. Camp is limited to the first 30 paid entrants of the Moccasin College Prep Academy.

SUPERVISION - Campers will be closely supervised at all times during the camp. Please note that those individuals arriving before the scheduled registration time will be not supervised, unless prior arrangements are made with the camp staff.

THE COURSE - The facilities at the private Lone Palm Golf Course are excellent for instructional and playing purposes. We have exclusive use of a driving range, chipping areas and putting greens in the mornings and will have the course available for play in the afternoons.


Coach Davis is in his sixteenth year as head coach of the Florida Southern women’s golf team. During this time the Lakeland native has taken the Lady Mocs to 12 NCAA national tournaments, finishing as Division II National Champions four seasons and four runner-up finishes. He has produced six individual National Champions in Shanna Nagy (1996 and 1998), Lisa Cave (1999 and 2000), and Jana Peterkova in (2001 and 2002). Coach Davis directed the Lady Mocs to the initial Sunshine State Conference Championship in 1999, 2000, 2007, and 2013 when he was honored as Conference Coach of the Year. In 2002 and 2007 he was named National Coach of the year.


Coach Joyner is a seven-time “Polk County Golf Coach of the Year”; six times with the George Jenkins High School girl’s team, one time with the Lakeland Christian High School golf team. Currently, David is the head coach for the Lakeland Christian girl’s golf team. In addition to coaching, he runs the Junior Citrus Golf Program and the First Presbyterian Church Youth Camps in Lakeland, Florida.


Coach Gordin is in his seventeenth year as head coach of the Florida Southern men’s golf team. In his sixteen years, Gordin’s Mocs have won five NCAA Division II National Championships. He was named Coach of the Year twice by the Golf Coaches Association of America, and was inducted into the Golf Coaches Hall of Fame in 2001. Coach Gordin has extensive hands-on experience with golf camp programs at Duke University, Campbell University, University of Alabama, Murray State University, Pine Needles Golf School, Georgia Junior Academy and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Golf Camp.
